Coaches

Dedrick DeWalt has led Lane Tech Football for the past 5 seasons. Before landing the head coach role for Lane Tech, DeWalt, a CPS grad of Simeon High School, played football for Boston College for four years. After college, he played in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans and St. Louis Rams.

Proviso West High School. Graduate of William Penn University. I have been coaching at Lane since 2021. I have been involved with football since the age of 9. Now I’m giving back everything the game has given me!

I’m Titus Perez, from the south side of Chicago. I attended Marshall high school and later received my bachelors degree in journalism and media from Western Illinois University. At Western I also received my masters in sports management. I have a 12 year old daughter and 10 year old son. I’ve played football my entire life, up until college, where I successfully walked on before ending my playing career shortly after. When I’m not coaching, I work as a PE teacher and athletic director at a middle school on Chicago’s east side (Great Lakes Academy).

Fun fact: I am 1 of my mothers 12 kids (10 boys, 2 girls)

I am a proud graduate of Lane Tech, class of 1984, where I played varsity football before continuing my football career for three years in college. Off the field, I’ve pursued a career as a pastry chef, working in various kitchens and teaching baking and pastry to college students. In 2021, I returned to Lane as a football coach. I take great pride in the teaching aspect of coaching and the opportunity to give back to Lane in a positive way. Wherever you go, whatever you do, remember the honor of Lane.

I am coach Ben Reniva. Raised in Oak Park, I played football from the age of 6 all the way to the age of 20. Started at the youth level for the OPRF Little Huskies from 2007-14. 4 year starter at OPRF from 2015-19. Finished out my playing days at Quincy University from 2019-21. Starting my coaching career at Lane in 2023, I hope to continue passing on the knowledge I’ve learned over the years onto these young men and help them become better players and men.

Born and raised on the South of Chicago and North suburbs. Attended Glenbrook South & Buffalo Grove High Schools. Around 2007-2008 I was the leading rusher in the Mid Suburban League. Ended up taking the JUCO route to semi pro to playing 3 years of professional arena and still play. I've been coaching at Lane Tech since 2021. On the side, I'm a performance trainer. I'm here to help develop, inspire and motivate!

Coach, trainer, sports mentor for 7+ years. Coached at famous TC Williams high school in VA and run a business catered to educating, motivating and advocating for student athletes.

Played college football at Ferrum College. Coach Ward has helped for over four years as Offensive Coordinator.

Lawrence Bolls is the Defensive Coordinator for the JV football team.

Coach Weathers works for CPS and has coached Pop Warner for the past three years.

Coach Bell, comes with over 30 years of coaching experience and is passionate about teaching players the game. Prior to coaching, Coach Bell played football, basketball, and baseball at Wheaton Warrenville South H.S. & college football and basketball at Wartburg college in Iowa. In his free time, Coach Bell loves watching and playing sports with his wife and their three kids.
